In the 1980s, many manufacturers, mainly in the plastics processing industry, introduced plastic profile production technology and equipment from abroad, mainly from Germany, Italy, Austria and other Western European countries, and began to produce second-generation plastic doors and windows. Compared with the first-generation plastic doors and windows, the second-generation plastic doors and windows are mainly because the content of filler calcium carbonate is greatly reduced, the performance is much better, and the price is higher, but people are still generally optimistic about it. At that time, all major ministries and committees gave great support to the introduction of plastic profiles. There were as many as 180 twin-screw extruded profile production lines, and nearly 100 manufacturers engaged in the deep processing of plastic doors and windows. Large-scale introduction has not brought about a large-scale market. Due to the substantial increase in production enterprises, domestic chemical raw materials, especially the main raw material PVC resin, are in short supply, the price of raw materials has risen, and the prices of doors and windows have risen. The price increase and the negative effects caused by the first generation of plastic doors and windows, coupled with the lack of understanding of plastic products, there are doubts about the aging of plastic doors and windows, so that the output of plastic doors and windows has been unable to rise, and the market acceptance of plastic doors and windows It is quite weak and market development is very difficult. Until the mid-1990s, the market share of China's plastic doors and windows was still less than 3%.

In 1992, the Ministry of Construction launched the "Hard PVC Plastic Doors and Windows" atlas number 92SJ704 (1). In 1994, the industry standards for plastic doors and windows were introduced, namely "PVC Plastic Door" JGJ 3017-94 and "PVC Plastic Window" JGJ 3018-94.

At the same time, the country has also given great support to the development of plastic doors and windows, which has led to a greater development of the plastic door and window industry. As far as the domestic plastic door and window industry is concerned, profile extrusion production lines, molds, assembly equipment, door and window hardware, etc. have basically been fully equipped, and have their own development and design capabilities, and they have various types, moderate grades, and various products. Features, greatly reducing the gap with advanced countries. The production of various profiles has been introduced and imitated from the initial stage of introduction.
