The difference between PVC board and PP board
The difference between PVC board and PP boardMany people admit that PP board and PVC board are wrong, but these two boards are made of different materials, and the effect is also different. In the plastic board profession, PVC board and PP board have always been better developed. Many customers don't know the difference between these two kinds of boards, so they don't know how to choose when they are used. Let's know what is the difference between these two kinds of boards.
PVC board is made of PVC as raw material and has a honeycomb mesh structure. It is a kind of vacuum plastic film. It is used for surface packaging of various types of panels, so it is also called decorative film and adhesive film. It is used in many industries such as building materials, packaging, medicine and so on.
The thermal stability of PVC sheet is very poor. It begins to soften at 80 degrees, differentiates at 130 degrees, and releases HCL gas. PVC is not as good as PP in electrical insulation. It is usually suitable for low-voltage and low-frequency insulation materials. PVC is resistant to most inorganic acids, alkalis, salts, most organic solvents, etc.
PP board, also known as polypropylene (PP) board (PP pure board, modified PP board, reinforced PP board, PP electrode), is a semi-crystalline material. It is harder than PE and has a higher melting point. Since the PP temperature of the homopolymer type is very brittle when it is higher than 0°C, many commercial PP materials are random copolymers with 1 to 4% ethylene or clamp copolymers with a higher ratio of ethylene content.
PP board is odorless, non-toxic, and tasteless, in line with national health standards, and has a low density. It is a lighter type of general-purpose plastics. It can be boiled in water, sterilized by 120 degree steam, and can be used for a long time at 100 degree temperature without deformation. It has electrical insulation and chemical stability together, hardly absorbs water, and has no effect when touched with most chemicals. PP is resistant to corrosion, acid and alkali. The shortcoming is poor low temperature impact resistance and easier aging, but it can be overcome by modification and addition of antioxidants.
